MQ-9 Reaper drones are manufactured by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, first flew in 2001 the United States began in 2007 using another user is a British Royal Air Force, Italian, Dutch and French.
Until now, most of the tasks Reaper is doing intelligence and reconnaissance missions. Reaper is the largest US-owned UAV, with a wingspan of 20 m, a maximum takeoff weight of 4,760 kg, 1,700 kg load capacity and a maximum period of 14 hours flight time (full charge).
Reaper is able to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of two miles (horizontal distance) while flying at an altitude of 15,800 m. Capable of carrying bombs, air-to-ground missiles, and air-to-air missiles of 227 kg.
At the beginning of this decade, the United States more trained personnel to operate the Reaper rather than training for other weapons. In the future, this UAV fleet will be the largest air support of the United States.
